Look at the background before the lens
A tidy frame is pleasant, but privacy matters more. Move mail, work documents, school names, family photos and street views out of sight. Check whether reflective surfaces show more of the room than you expect. A window can reveal landmarks, and a shared room may put someone else on camera without their agreement. Position your device steadily and test the angle before you join. You do not need a studio look: ordinary light in front of your face is usually enough to be seen clearly.
